On the 20th of November 2018 IAAS LLN held their first conference ever. The subject was an ecovillage in Wavre. They invited L'Arbre qui Pousse and In.seed to speak about how we can adapt our habitats and make them more ecological. A whopping 270 people showed up and they even had to close off the applications since there was such interest in the event.
It was a presentation with these purposes:
▶️ Give a foretaste of habitat systemic comprehension, with humans within it. ▶️ Present some existing solutions within this case: water filtration, biomethanisation, natural material construction. ▶️ Show how to be a privileged player of our society. Examples of L'Arbre qui Pousse 🌳and of In.Seed - Integrated System Design🌱. We had the pleasure to welcome :
🔹Arthur Michelet, MSc Environmental Biotechnology Wageningen UR. BSc Bio-ingénieur UCLouvain. Traveler, unsatified dreamer and entrepreneur. 🔹Juan Thibaut de Maisières, MSc Architecture and Sustainability ULeuven. BSc architecture UCLouvain. Traveler, visionary and creator Co-fondators of « in.Seed – Integrated System Design » and of « L’Arbre qui Pousse ».
The event was quite a success, far better than we ever imagined, and was really appreciated by both the team, the speakers and the public. There were of course some logistical details we can improve on but for our first conference it was a huge succes
