On the 23rd and 24th of November, IAAS Belgium held their motivational weekend.
In the first semester of every academic year, the 3 local committees and the national board come together to get to know each other better and have a meeting. This year we held it at the boshut, the headquarters of IAAS Leuven and also of IAAS world!
On Friday evening we invited over some other international youth organisations and IFSA (Ghent & Gembloux) showed up (International Forestry Students Association, like IAAS but for forestry students). We held a cosy gourmet evening and laid the basis for future cooperation between our organisations.
On Saturday it was time for the real work however as we had our general assembly meeting. We first had breakfast together and then discussed various topics. We talked about:
- our many past activities (check this huge newsletter)
- our future events like our upcoming Breakfast Action, our exchange week, ICYA,…
- our articles of association and house rules (constitution and by-laws)
- our exchange program: Nastya, NExCo, gave a presentation to our many new members
- our upcoming merch: we are buying reusable cups for our events, T-shirts, stickers, flyers, cantus mugs
It was a very productive meeting and nice gourmet-evening. Thank you to all those who participated!
