Christmas time means everyone cares just a little bit more in these dark, cold days. One of the Flemish radio stations Studio Brussel organises the Warmest Week. This is where loads of Flemish people organise many different actions to raise money for the good cause of their choosing. This can go from selling waffles, to organising parties, to swimming in a mobile pool on a truck driving around the country.
IAAS also wants to do their part for charity and support the local fraternities in this.
On the 19th of December IAAS Leuven was a part of LBK's christmas market. The good cause they chose is the centre of suicide prevention. By supporting this cause many people can be helped by the centre who talks to them and calms people on the verge of suicide. IAAS Leuven sold hot dogs towards this cause and LBK sold many other things as well.
On the 4th of December IAAS Ghent was part of VLK's christmas market for a good cause, Protos. Protos is an organisation that wants to make water accessible to everyone. They build potable water structures which means less time is wasted to get the water and children are finally able to go to school and take care of their and their family's future. IAAS sold Croque monsieurs and Pomeretto (Apple juice, Amaretto, cinnamon) and VLK also sold lots of food and drinks. VLK made €1838.69 euros towards the good cause and IAAS Ghent added 100 euros to that!
Let's support each other through these dark, cold times (it's also exam time for the Belgian students) and happy holidays everyone!
