Sunday the 7th of April started out with a bit of a sleep in, which is definitely necessary after a trade fair and breakfast at home. We then came together around 10 am to have a city game and see some of Volos. We got hints and could use google maps to find the next location, where we got the next hint. Here’s an example: what do the polar express, hachiko and murder on the orient express have in common? The answer was trains, so we went to the train station!
We ended up at the Archeological museum which we checked out of course. Our Greek friends told us all about burial rituals in Greece and why they put coins beneath their tongues. This is of course to pay for the safe passage to the underworld.
Now, we finally had some sunny weather and a couple of free hours so we went to the beach! Some of us even swam, which was crazy since the water has had no time to heat up and is ice cold. As a true northerner of course, I got a little burned.
In the evening we ate the trade fair leftovers and me and my friend Panagiotis were the presenters of the Development Fund auction in the city hall. The DF is used so that everyone from all over the world can participate in constitutional events and the whole world can be represented. With only a couple of people we held an auction and sold T-shirts, massages, olive oil, … We made 375 euros, which is massive! People told me I presented it very nice and in a funny way, so that’s nice to hear of course.
