What has IAAS Leuven been up to this semester?

Open meeting

On February 28, IAAS Leuven invited interested people to an open meeting with snacks and drinks

Cerrado, The forgotten ecosystem

On the 25th of February IAAS Leuven went to see a short movie about the Cerrado, a tropical savanna ecoregion in Brazil. Sadly, it is being destroyed due to agro-industry and Wervel, the organisers are trying to raise awareness about this growing problem. The movie was followed by two guest speakers, Prof. Contanza Parra and Prof. Johan De Tavernier, and an interesting discussion.

International Fika

In the think abroad week, on the 26th of March, IAAS Leuven bundled forces with team International and Best to organise a Fika, a dessert buffet following a Swedish tradition. There was live music and too much dessert too eat. So, all in all a great afternoon. Here international and local students came together to enjoy one of the best things this earth has to offer: Dessert!

Breakfast action

The event of events arrived on the April 2nd, when all hands were on deck to make and deliver breakfasts all around Leuven. The previous day our entire committee came together to make more than 300 breakfasts. We worked tirelessly until the darkness set but it was immense fun.

Project Management: Soft skill training

On the 29th of April IAAS Leuven organised a soft skill training about project management (because when has a project ever gone perfect?). It was delivered by Clara Beers Y Moreno (a brand-new trainer from Leuven itself) and Seyhan Kâhya (a Swiss trainer doing his masters here).
