The third day of EDM started with our general assembly GA at 9 am. We had an opening session by the Executive Board EB on their progress since their election on WOCO, and the same for the Control Board CB. They explained their duties and what they're working on right now.
The Regional Board RB presented the overview of their term. They had a meeting in March, in Ghent, Belgium where they discussed projects, problems & solutions for the region. They set their timeline for their projects, which were:
Organising two subregional meetings SRMs South: Slovenia, 11-14th of October North: Switzerland, 18-21st of October On Thursday everyone arrived and got to know each other through the introduction games. On Friday they gave the participants an introduction into IAAS Europe and ITC held a soft-skill training on active listening. Of course a city tour was also included. Saturday then, another training on communication and a presentation on all the opportunities in IAAS (the events, global projects, exchange program,...). One of the opportunities we have is through our partners. So they invited Thought For Food to present themselves and what they were about. They closed of the SRM with our best tradition, a Trade Fair!
Creating a playbook (this was delayed) The playbook is a guide for our committees. In this book they would write tips and explanations on how to contact your university for example.
Creating a communication strategy They created a Facebook and Instagram profile and made a WhatsApp group for the European NDs and LDs. They posted lots on social media and had a country report with the contact information from the committees and their events).
Checking the constitution and proposing changes Together the board read and re-read the constitution and came up with proposals for changes. This was then proposed on WOCO as well.
Writing a Hand Over document Since this is the first year the RBs are in this form and these regions they are writing a handover document for the upcoming RB, which will be elected on this EDM.
The position of the event coordinator was then presented. The event coordinator collects all the information on international events happening in Europe. He/she puts all of this information in the google agenda (open to everyone, click here) so everyone can see when the best time would be to have their event. The exam information is also put in an excel file so you're sure to have participants on your events.
The workshop Be like EB was meant to look at what EB can improve and giving tips on how they could improve.
After the break and a fun energiser we took some time to make new promotional material for the sponsorship document etc. Every committee took a short video saying a sentence in their language and all together it will make a nice video that can be used to promote IAAS.
Finally it was time for the soft-skill trainings provided by ITC. The participants could choose from either leadership by Till or Risk assessment by Panagiotis and Vedrana. These soft-skill trainings gave the participants the necessary tools to succeed in their projects.
After all that hard work it was time for the best IAAS tradition we have, the Trade Fair!
Just look at how many countries were present. IAAS Spain even invited some of their alumni to join us. What an amazing evening we had.
